President’s Message
Dear friends,
On the great celebration year of OCCED/Nepal 10 years and also in the occasion of its 10th AGM, I
am very much proud to share with all of you that a decade long our journey has given a positive result in the needy community without any doubt.
When we look at our past all of us know we have faced lots of ups and down undoubtedly. We have
crossed the very undesirable situation of the country. It's our satisfaction that in such circumstances too OCCED/Nepal stood without any uproar in its path and proved to be a dedicated social organization.
This year is of course a milestone in OCCED history; we have been successful to establish OCCED/Nepal Women's Group two in Kaski and one in Nawalparasi district. With a realization, without empowering a woman no other changes could be carried out successfully in the society. In this connection OCCED/Nepal has commence PROJECT WEESD2009 with the support from Les Pousses de Laligura, France. This project incorporates 60 underprivileged women with a target to develop and turn themselves into a confident and independent citizen.
A regular visit of UK volunteers in OCCED/Nepal through People and Places, UK and US volunteers
from United Planet, USA has added another landmark in the OCCED activities. We cannot ignore the
role of Social Tours (local partner of above volunteer placement organizations), Kathmandu which has made additional dimension in the journey of our social responsibility.
In spite of sincere effort I must admit very honestly that our dream project which is construction of a permanent facility for our children could not be started. But it does not mean that this project has been halted, we have already generated and created a fund of Rs. 2.5 million and with new vision to complete this mission, from the month of August 2009 we have started a new fund raising program "Project Acquiring Land for OCCED". It's really inspiring that in a month time we have succeeded to collect Rs. One Hundred Five Thousand. Many of our well-wishers have shown their keen interest to involve themselves on this program. My cordial request to everyone is to participate in this program by contributing the cost for at least one square meter of land and also encourage your known ones to join this noble cause.
The significant support we received from NAAA- Italy, ANF-Japan, and Yeti Airlines is always appreciable.
It is indeed each and every achievement we made is because of the team work of OCCED family, staffs, involved volunteers and the well-wishers.
We always hope "FOR BETTER TOMORROW", my best wishes to the new board going to be elect
in the coming AGM. I am in full confident that the team will succeed to continue to carry the glory of OCCED/Nepal nationally and internationally.
